Investment Options

National Development Fund (NDF)

The NDF is a non-profit foundation which helps support enterprises and innovations through long-term committed share capital, along with public/private partnerships, various governmental projects, and charitable causes in the fields of healthcare, education, environmental management, and youth development.

Acquisition of citizenship under the NDF requires a one-time contribution of US$230,000 per application.

Real Estate Investment

To qualify for citizenship under the real estate option, applicants are required to make a minimum investment of US$300,000 in a designated CIP-approved development. The investor is required to hold ownership of the property for the initial 5-year period.

A non-refundable reservation fee of US$10,000 is paid to secure the property and take it off the market.

A deposit fee of 10% of the purchase price net of the reservation fee is paid upon the execution of the sales and escrow agreements.

Upon approval in principle of the purchaser´s citizenship, the remaining 90% of the purchase price is payable to the escrow agent.

Business Investment Options

Existing or proposed businesses may be approved for investment by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) after consultation with the Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority (ABIA). The minimum investment for a principal applicant is US$1.5m.

Alternatively, two or more people may make a joint investment totalling at least US$5m. Each person is required to contribute at least US$400,000 to the joint investment.

University of the West Indies Fund

The University of the West Indies Fund (UWI) option is a mechanism for financing UWI´s fourth landed campus. Applicants are required to make an investment of US$260,000 for a family of six – the minimum number per application. This option entitles one member of the family to a one-year, tuition-only scholarship at UWI.
